POLICE in Kafue have arrested two men for allegedly abducting 18 children with intent to traffic them to an unknown destination.
The two suspects are being held at a police post cell in Shikoswe Site and Service.
Lusaka Province police commissioner Joyce Kasosa confirmed the arrest of the suspect in an interview in Lusaka on Tuesday.
“We are also investigating the mastermind of this activity,” he said.
And police sources said the suspects have been charged with child trafficking and will appear in court before the end of the week.
The sources said when the children were abducted, they were kept in ‘solitary confinement’ within Shikoswe Site and Service in readiness for their transportation.
But just before the children were put on a Lusaka-bound minibus, the police were tipped and they pounced on the two men believed to be aged between 26 and 30.
