POLICE have arrested Lumezi Member of Parliament Munir Zulu for alleged hate speech while human rights activist Brebner Changala has been taken in for alleged seditious practices.
In a statement yesterday, police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Mr Zulu’s arrest follows an investigation into statements he allegedly made that are deemed to incite hatred and division among various groups in society.
Mr Hamoonga said hate speech is a grave offence that undermines national unity and peace.
He said the police remain committed to upholding the law and seeing to it that inappropriate actions are addressed accordingly.
