President Sata addresses Freeedom FightersBy ALVIN CHIINGA
A GROUP of freedom fighters from Chinsali has castigated controversial Catholic priest Frank Bwalya for his utterances against the Patriotic Front (PF) and President Sata, saying his stance is divisive and dangerous.
The group, made up of 20 senior citizens, has asked President Sata to allow them to meet Father Bwalya so that they can teach him good morals.
The freedom fighters paid a courtesy call on President Sata at State House yesterday.
“We want to take Fr Bwalya with us as we go back to Chinsali so that we can teach him good morals,” spokesperson Samson Chifwamba said.
The vibrant-looking senior citizens, who also sang songs of praise for President Sata, described Fr Bwalya as a disgruntled priest who has no respect for elders.
Mr Chifwamba said it is disheartening that Fr Bwalya is comfortable to disrespect elders.
The cleric has been attacking the PF and Mr Sata for allegedly failing the people of Zambia.
On development, Mr Chifwamba said the people of Chinsali are happy with the several developmental projects currently under way in the district.
He said a project such as the construction of the Mulakupikwa University is testimony that President Sata is committed to developing the country.
Mr Chifwamba said Chinsali is the home of the Patriotic Front and the people of Chinsali will rally behind President Sata.
“Mr Sata is the only President of the republic who has brought development to Chinsali,” he said.
And Mr Sata said former President Kenneth Kaunda should be respected for managing to unite the people of Zambia.
He said that during the pre-independence days, there were a lot of differences among the people of Zambia but Dr Kaunda united the nation.
The group from Chinsali was led by Chinsali District Commissioner Evelyn Kangwa. Others in the delegation were Anthony Mbulo, Rodwell Mwansamba, Greston Katongo, Peter Mulenga, Peter Mulonga and Adam Mwenge.
Others were Nelson Mpundu, Salam Bwalya, Monica Kabungo, Mary Ngulube, Helena Bwalya, Kenny Chikoti, Esnart Mulenga, Idah Mbulo, Elise Sampa, Henry Nkonde, Westone Muyeleka and Mwila Kapanga.
