TWO ZAMBIA Air Force (ZAF) officers died yesterday when their plane crashed in Kabanje Bwiketo village, 40 kilometres from Livingstone city on the Zimba-Livingstone road.
Southern Province commissioner of police Charity Katanga confirmed yesterday that the two ZAF officers died after their FA528 SAB aircraft crashed in Kabanje Bwiketo village.
“It happened around 12:00 hours and I am sure it was during their routine work,” Ms Katanga said.
She said a combined team of police and firefighters rushed to the scene and so far, “we cannot reveal the names until the next of kin are notified”.
Mrs Katanga could not confirm the cause of the crash, adding that ZAF will determine the cause.
She said the bodies have been retrieved.
