Dear editor,
THE hooliganism witnessed during the Zambia vs Lesotho football match of throwing empty bottles onto the playing field at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last Saturday must be condemned in the strongest terms and should be avoided at all costs.
Why should we risk being banned from playing at home just because of a few unpatriotic fans? In fact they are not even fans because a real soccer supporter does not resort to violence even when the team of his preference is losing the game.
What more when we were winning.
We don’t what a repeat of what happened during last Saturday’s game against Lesotho.
It is the responsibility of all well-meaning soccer fans to help the police once we see someone throwing any object onto the playing field.
Such people must be prosecuted to serve as a lesson to would-be offenders.
Imagine Zambia playing home games away due to few violent fans!
Let’s all cheer the boys, but no throwing of objects, please!
All the best Chipolopolo boys again Sudan!
Brazil 2014 here we come!
GADY MWAMBA MUSEKA,
KABWE.
