THE Patriotic Front (PF) and Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) have adopted their candidates for the Katuba constituency by-elections while the United Party for National Development (UPND) is expected to announce its candidate today.
PF deputy secretary general Bridget Atanga told the Sunday Mail that her party has adopted Mr Moses Chilando, a business man of Katuba Constituency.
And MMD deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu said his party has adopted Cecil Holmes.
“The constituency, district and province submitted Mr Holmes’ name to us and although we have not yet sat as NEC, I acted administratively to pick him since he was the only applicant,” he said.
Meanwhile, UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said his party will announce its candidate today.
Mr Kakoma said his party has just completed interviews for five candidates after which it will announce the successful candidate.
The Katuba constituency by-election was necessitated by the death of MMD member of Parliament Dr Patrick Chikusu.
